Real World Winers started in late 2005 as a group of friends who got together every week to drink, socialize, and rate wines. The original site ran on Blogger with a phpBB forum, audio recordings, and bottle photos. It went dark sometime in the late 2000s and the domain bounced around for years before being recovered.

This is a reboot. All historical reviews on this site were scraped from the Wayback Machine, merged across many snapshots, and parsed into structured records — wines, ratings, audio clips, and bottle photos. The full archive of every audio recording and bottle photo survives.

The rating system was always intentionally blunt:

• Drink & Buy — would drink it again and would buy a bottle.
• Drink — would drink it, but wouldn't pay for it.
• Pass — wouldn't drink it again.
• Toilet — the comedic worst-of-the-worst.

New reviews coming soon. A companion mobile app for capturing tastings — audio, bottle photos with background removal, AI-assisted writeups — is in the works.
